NAC Kazatomprom JSC participated at international conferences World Nuclear Spotlight and World Nuclear Fuel Cycle held on 15-18 April in Almaty. These events were organized by the World Nuclear Association (WNA) and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).
Hosting these conferences in Kazakhstan for the first time is particularly significant for the country. These events are key platforms for nuclear industry participants, facilitating exchange of knowledge and experience in such important areas as technology development, climate change, economics, human resources and financing of nuclear energy. The World Nuclear Spotlight and World Nuclear Fuel Cycle are a dialogue platform for industry experts from Kazakhstan, USA, Canada, France, China, Japan and other countries, contributing to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between countries.
These conferences brought together leading experts and representatives of key nuclear industry players such as Cameco, Orano, Duke Energy Corporation, Électricité de France, China National Uranium Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, Urenco, ConverDyn and others.
The main speakers were Bohdan Zronek, Chair of the Board of the World Nuclear Association and Chief Nuclear Officer of ČEZ; Mohamed Al Hammadi, WNA Vice Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC); Sama Bilbao y León, Director General of WNA; Tim Gitzel, President & CEO of Cameco, and Malcolm Critchley, President and CEO of ConverDyn.
Meirzhan Yussupov, CEO of Kazatomprom, presented at the WNA Spotlight highlighting the company’s development strategy and plans.

WNA and NEI’s decision to host these events in Kazakhstan demonstrates the significance of the country’s role as a key participant in the international nuclear community and its desire to further strengthen international cooperation to achieve sustainable development and safety of nuclear energy.
