About this event
Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes
Greetings BOOSTers, family, and friends!
All hands are cordially invited, to muster, or watch, this historic celebration, and unveiling, of our B.O.O.S.T. 1.0 All Classes Commemoration Plaque Reunion Ceremony, at the U.S. Navy Memorial Museum on October 4th, 2024 at 2pm! From 1969 to 2009, BOOST 1.0 provided a transformative opportunity for underrepresented individuals in America, empowering them with unparalleled collegiate-level skills and unwavering physical prowess.
Through this prestigious program, countless exceptional civilians and enlisted Sailors shattered barriers, showing their unwavering dedication and earning the honor of a full Naval scholarship and coveted military commission.
Our basic program agenda and main ceremony will start at 2 pm, anthem, welcome, a moment of silence, Roll Call of all BOOST 1.0 class members recognized there in the auditorium, a brief history of BOOST 1.0 and its place in the evolution of our pursuit of better American Civil Rights/Diversity & Inclusion in our military, PowerPoint presentation of shared memories, congratulation notes/testimonials from present members, then the 4 – 5 main speakers. More info below. . .
NOTE: if you are attending, this event is being recorded and live-streamed, and parts will be filmed for use in an upcoming documentary movie about our BOOST 1.0 legacy. If any former BOOSTers would like to be interviewed for the documentary, you can.
